Eventful Day ever

The first and foremost important thing I would like to say is either being away from your family and friends or living alone in an entirely foreign country is not easy at all. Especially when it comes to me, as a young Vietnamese lady studying BBA in Lahti University, Finland is a wholly fresh impressive experience. However, this dear Lahti does treat me well with hospitality and warmest welcome. This delightful feeling may come from the friendliness of the city itself as well as the proliferation of Vietnamese students.

In addition, my culture teacher once mentioned that national unity was such a two-edge blade for Asian living abroad. Unity can provide us with ultimate strength yet can deprive the ability to think independently. And after participating in Vietnam Day Lahti 2008, all I could feel was the glorious strength of unity blooming like a lotus flower despite the underneath dirty mud.

On the second hand, for those who didn’t have opportunities to take part in Vietnam Day, I can show you the three most important adjectives: fun, friendly and professional. The program agendas were carefully organized to meet the taste of different audiences from high school students to lecturers. All performances were connected closely throughout the show, therefore it helps audiences to have such general touch yet detail images about Vietnamese culture and people.

Last but not least, each of the Vietnamese students had put their greatest efforts with enthusiastic contribution to create the friendliness atmosphere. As a family, we dance, we sing and we smile together irrespective of our races, ages, backgrounds and our skin colors.

In general, this eventful day gives me opportunity to get closer and gain more understandings toward my Vietnamese friends. As a result, it has given me chances to see them work fully stretched, to laugh their hearts out, to take care of each other.

After all, we are people from the same nation, from the same planet, aren’t we?
