Vietnam Day in Lahti 2008 is a project funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in series of cultural events provided for the young students around Finland. In Lahti, the project is hold by Lahden Seurakuntayhtymä and carried each year an event to promote one country and its cultures. The target group of the project this year 2008 in Lahti are the students from Salpaus Further Education. Lastly, Vietnamese students and international friends from Lahti University of Applied Sciences are proud to be the main organizers of the event.
Referred to the event brief description on the front page, this year 2008, the day will be organized in Salpaus center Svinhufvudikatu 2E, lasting nearly whole day 3rd of November from 9.30 until 17.00. The program is designed in the form of three “houses”:
* Information House :
Vietnamese culture may be still mysterious and unknown to most people outside the country. Today, more and more people are going to Vietnam for traveling and trading. Getting to know Vietnam and Vietnamese culture is interesting and fascinating. In this part, presentations of basic facts about the country and its cultures will be shown to students, in the tourism aspects.
* Culinary House :
Proudly, Vietnam is known of its vast variety of cuisine throughout the country. Therefore, we would like to let you experience with tasting some traditional dishes of our culinary art. Making it more interesting, participants will be guided to make and taste the Vietnamese Fresh Spring roll by themselves.
* Entertainment House :
The most exciting part of the day would fall to the last house when introducing Vietnamese traditional, modern and romantic music together with ethnical bamboo dancing game and traditional dresses show. Also, throughout and weeks after the day, there was an open gallery of Vietnamese arts with several pictures and exhibits.
We hope our program would bring you up with the image of Vietnam’s cultures, a must-be discovered hidden charm. Please enjoy yourselves with a vast info, pictures, videos, presentation and all out of it, the warm atmosphere of friendship and cultural exchange.
